City councilmembers have approved new fee schedules for various recreation programs and facilities in West Valley City. They include fees for childcare services at the West Valley City Family Fitness Center, city parks and pavilions, and at two municipal golf courses.

Childcare services at the WVCFFC include a $2 per hour increase, a $4 per hour bump for Kidz Camp, and a $3 increase per day for After-school Kamp. The changes are budgeted to increase revenue by about $30,000 a year.

In the Parks and Recreation Department, the following fees have been approved:

Park User Fees: 

Park Pavilion rentals–$80 for residents, $100 for nonresidents Mon-Thurs; $100 for residents, $125 for nonresidents Fri-Sun.

Park open space use for festivals, circus or car shows–$400 per day.

Soccer Field Rental – $100 per half-day (before/after 2 p.m.)

Soccer Field Fee to Line Field and Goal Area – $100 

Softball Field Rental – $250 per half-day (before/after 2 p.m.) 

Field Lights (per field) – $75/hour or fraction of an hour 

Softball/Baseball Field Prep: $65/field each time to drag, mark or rake 34; $20/field for quick rake and remark

Electrical Power Boxes – $200 setup fee/box

Electrical Power Box Rental – $25/day

Use of Maverik Center, per patron – $1/ticket* Except for community events hosted or co-sponsored by the city
