As school winds down and summer kicks into full gear, so do a number of annual events and festivals for West Valley City.
The WestFest runs June 17-20 at Centennial Park, 5405 W. 3100 South. Before that happens, weekly Festival Markets will be held in the park each Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m.
Presented by Good4Life Markets, the event brings together produce growers and artisanal goods from farmers and makers in the community. Entertainment, games and other activities for everyone in the family will be offered during the markets, which run weekly through Oct. 8. You can learn more on the market Instagram page at www.instagram.com/westvalley.farmersmarket/
The Healthy West Valley Committee will meet on June 10 at 3 p.m. at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center. The committee always plans a number of events each year. The city’s Clean and Beautiful committee will also meet at the UCCC on June 24 at 5:30 p.m. Website information at www.wvc-ut.gov can supply more information.
Concerts will be held at the Utah First Credit Union Amphitheatre (they began on May 30 with Kesha) and run through Oct. 7. The West Valley Performing Arts Center will have productions through the end of August as well.
And concerts plus other events are scheduled for the Maverik Center this summer.
Find a list of concerts in the Salt Lake Valley and local communities each month in the West Valley Journal.
